About Mennonite Education Agency

Mennonite Education Agency (MEA) is the education ministry of Mennonite Church USA (MC USA). Rooted in Anabaptist convictions, MEA strengthens the church through education.

MEA was formed when two Mennonite denominations – the General Conference Mennonite Church and the old Mennonite Church – merged in 2001. MEA continues the work of the former Mennonite Board of Education as it also relates to the good work of the former General Conference of Mennonite Churches.

Currently, MEA relates to a number of educational institutions that have their roots in the wider Mennonite church, from early childhood through grade 12 schools, undergraduate colleges and universities, graduate schools, and seminaries. MEA helps strengthen their connection to MC USA and to equip local churches and church leaders for faithful discipleship.

MEA also engages in direct ministry, including Hispanic Ministries, which provide biblical and theological training in Spanish for Hispanic Mennonite leaders.

  • IBA – Instituto Bíblico Anabautista (Anabaptist Bible Institute): Biblical and theological
    education for Hispanic lay leaders
  • SeBAH – Seminario Bíblico Anabautista Hispano (Hispanic Anabaptist Biblical
Seminary): Ministerial education at the undergraduate level
  • MenoTicias – (Mennonite News) – A monthly Spanish e-zine
  • Un Momento do Anabautismo (an Anabaptist Moment) – A podcast in Spanish
