Dwight Gingerich, the longtime boys basketball coach at Hillcrest Academy, has been selected for induction into the Iowa High School Basketball Hall of Fame.

He’ll be honored, along with six others, during halftime of the Class 3A championship game next Friday [March 8] at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines.

The Iowa High School Athletic Association made the announcement Friday [March 1].

Gingerich has won 738 games in 42 seasons, all at Iowa Mennonite School/Hillcrest Academy, and is tied for fifth place on Iowa’s all-time high school victories list.

He is also principal at Hillcrest.
