Goshen College students serve at county park for Day of Service

GOSHEN, Ind. — Students from Goshen College spent Monday providing service across the county.

“Service is one of the things Goshen College is known for,” said Goshen College Associate Professor of Communication Jason Samuel. “Culture for Service is the model that’s on the seal — servant leadership is one of our core values, and this is just a tangible, visible way of students showing that servant leadership and showing that leadership.”

Samuel said Goshen College Community Engagement Day is so important to the college that all 100- and 200-level courses for the day are canceled, so the college’s Identity, Culture, and Community Course students can focus on the volunteer work, and not have to worry about coursework or lectures they may be missing.
