The seventh and eighth grade unit, At the Crossroads, looks at the middle school years as a "crossroad" moment. This is a time when students begin to make more decisions for themselves, and they begin to be treated more like adults. Middle school students are realizing that they have the power to decide who they are and who they want to be. This unit can help students learn to make good decisions about their lives.
In many ways this unit is a Christian ethics course. Good choices are an extension of a healthy, positive sense of self and the ability to recognize and express feelings in a healthy manner. The lessons in this unit encourage students to base their decision making on knowledge of themselves, their abilities and biblical standards.
