(Anabaptist Biblical Institute)
*The following description is for information purposes only since this is a Spanish program.
Mission Statement
The mission of Instituto Bíblico Anabautista (IBA) is to provide educational resources that promote theological-biblical training of Spanish-speaking leaders who will serve Mennonite Church USA in various ministries.
It is a biblical and theological education program for ministerial preparation.  It was founded in 1988 to fulfill the vision of the Reference Council of the Hispanic Ministries Department of the former General Conference Mennonite Church.
Its objective is to train men and women within Mennonite Church USA who will serve the church in various ministries.
Its priorities:
  • Support the efforts of area conferences in leadership development.
  • Provide resources and training for local congregations that promote the preparation of new leaders.
  • Seeks to orient the students in biblical knowledge, personal Christian living, and a life of commitment in the local congregation.
  • Motivating leaders oriented toward a missional church and stimulating local and global mission.
The institute functions by study centers in the local congregations and a tutor is assigned to each center.  It has two study levels, certificate and diploma. The majority of the students take an active part in the leadership of their congregations, such as serving as Sunday school teachers, deacons, and others have been chosen as pastors and church planters.
IBA now functions under Mennonite Education Agency (MEA) in partnership with Mennonite Mission Network and Iglesia Menonita Hispana.
For details about IBA, read the IBA brochure (English and Spanish), IBA Catalog (English).
